As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh. A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Sheikh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Sheikh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:

(Qur’ān 26:80). ‘Wa idhā mariḍtu fahuwa yashfīn’, ‘And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.’ Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm. Allāh Azza wa Jalla is saying, Shifā’ (cure) is from Allāh Azza wa Jalla. When somebody gets sick, Shifā’ is from Allāh ﷻ only.

Of course, there are many treatments. You must also look for it. Allāh ﷻ makes for everything a reason. So you must, if you are in need, you must go and ask for Shifā’ from Tabīb, from the doctor. But you must know first that Allāh ﷻ gives Shifā’. Because many times, many people have illness, they give them some medicine. This medicine doesn’t work. Another also doesn’t work, and another also. Many times they are trying to find, and in the end maybe Allāh ﷻ gives to this patient’s heart to ask Shifā’ from Allāh ﷻ, and it [medicine] works.

Especially for the Mu’min, for the Muslim; they must know this. Many of them are thinking that this doctor will bring them again to life. But Shifā’ is from Allāh Azza wa Jalla.

And the best thing, from [what] Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam says, , “Al-mi’dah bāytu d-dā’i wa l-ḥimya ra’su ddawa’i”, “The stomach is the house of diseases, and diet is the best medicine.” ṣadaqah Rasūlu Llāh ﷺ fi ma qal. (The Messenger of Allāh ﷻ says the truth in what he ﷺ said.) He ﷺ said, the stomach is house of illness. So what does that mean? You must look after what you are eating. This is very important – to eat the clean thing, the good thing and to control yourself. To leave place for water and place for air. Not only filling all your stomach with food. There must be a place for other

things to be of benefit for your body. When you fill all your stomach only [with food], this will be giving harm for you.

For this, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam is saying, “Diet is cure, Shifā’.” When something is giving you harm, you must know what this is and you must eat little.

Now also there are many illnesses coming, the new time illnesses. Before, it did not happen so commonly. Now in these days, in this time, there are many things. Before, it was rare. Now you see it everywhere.

For this when you are following Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, following the Sunnah, following the order of Allāh ﷻ, Allāh ﷻ keeps you safe. Because our body, Allāh ﷻ gave it to us clean and with no harm. We must also - this āmānah (trust) is from Allāh ﷻ, we must keep it also the same, [with] no harm.

Don’t think you are Muslim, you must not look after your body, you must not look after your health. It is important to be healthy, to be looking after your body. Body meaning not ego. Body for worshipping, to live and to help your family, your community, your Muslims, your human beings also. This is good, not to destroy your body and after that going from doctor to doctor.

The best thing is following Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. When the Qayṣar (Caesar), the Qayṣar or one of the kings, sent a doctor for Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam because there was not any doctor in Madīnah. As a gift, they sent one doctor to help people, ill people, sick people. The doctor waited one day, five days, one month. In the end, he said, “Nobody is coming. Why?” Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, “We are looking how to eat, how to drink, how to act. So there’s no need for a doctor.” So the doctor took permission and went back. No need for anyone to look after him ﷺ.

May Allāh ﷻ keep us in shā’a Llāh safe. May Allāh ﷻ give you a healthy life, and Shifā’ for ill, sick people in shā’a Llāh.

Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
