Be Merciful to Those on Earth

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh, Auzu Billahi Minashaytanir Rajeem. Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem, Wassalatu Wassalamu ala Rasulina Muhammadin Sayyidul Awwalin wal Akhirin, Madad Ya Rasulallah, Madad Ya Sadat As’habi RasuLillah, Madad Ya Mashayikhina, Dastur Mawlana Sheikh Abdullah Faiz Daghestani, Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani. Madad. Tariqatunas sohba, wal khayru fil jamiyya.

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ says,

“Be merciful to those who are on the earth, and you will be shown mercy from Who is in the heaven.” Treat people on earth with mercy, Allah ﷻ will treat you with mercy too. There are some things that people do without knowing. Certainly, good things are done. But people get surprised at some things wondering why they were done. Some time ago goats were attacked. They were saying, “Goats are eating our woods; they are destroying and finishing them”. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim used to be angry at this matter and didn’t like it. He sent messages a hundred times telling them “Let go of this matter. Leave it. Goats came to this world before you, and the world is not finished. People are the ones finishing the woods”. But they finished the goats. So the wildfires occurred, and each wildfire finished the food that the goats would eat for a hundred years in just a day.

The actual matter is that millions of poor people around those areas were feeding themselves with these goats’ milk, and using their wool, skin and other things. They are blessed animals that Allah ﷻ gave Barakah to. 3-5 million of people were benefitting from them. And now they are left jobless and without Rizq/sustenance. This matter was left afterwards, as there are no goats now. Even if there are goats, there are no shepherds. They have forgotten these things. And there is a big loss.

This matter is over now. And as Mawlana Shaykh Nazim used to say, three things are destroying the world: concrete, hormones and plastic. People can’t say anything about concrete. People are using it, putting it on top of each other. Hormones are also spread everywhere. And people are eating and drinking it. But the worst is plastic, nylon. They are throwing it everywhere. Even seas could not escape from being polluted with it. Animals and fish in large seas and oceans eat it, and it passes to people. It is dirtier than excrements. Excrements become fertilizers and disappear. But plastic doesn’t disappear.

However, there is a solution for it. Its solution is to collect it and recycle it. Rather than disposing it and polluting, it is better to recycle it. It is done in many places. But to collect it... Our people are already lazy. They throw everything in one garbage bin and don’t separate it. That’s ok, we understand that. But some people had realized it and turned it into a job. Poor people with carts walk for 40-60km a day clearing it on their way. They don’t ask for money. They work for an honest living. And now we hear that they’ve been arrested and fined. I don’t know if they are in jail. And what is the reason? “They are profiting unlawfully”. What is their unlawful profit? They should answer. Are they stealing? Are they beating someone or swearing at anyone? They are only looking into garbage and collecting it. Who can do it except for the poor and needy ones? They think it is too much for them. And then they sue these people. It is wrong. It is a shame. More than it being shameful, it hurts Allah ﷻ. Poor people are not asking money from you. They are earning honestly without stealing and cheating. They push their carts and don’t bother anyone. This is not acceptable. It is wrong. It is a very big sin. It is a shame. Don’t deal with poor ones. The cry of the poor reaches Allah’s ﷻ Throne directly and without a veil. No one can prevent it. Therefore, this is our advice.

This is envy. And apart from envy, there are bad intentions behind this. They are trying to destroy the country by all means. The country stands through the Duas of the poor and needy people. They have figured this out and want to use it as a weapon. The matter of goats and this matter did not start with good intentions. They are initiated with bad intentions. They are done with bad intentions by the external side, the enemies of Islam and Allah ﷻ.

People should not see it as something simple. It is not a simple thing. It is not like... We have a Turkish proverb. A crow was told, “Your excrements are like medicine”. So it threw it in the middle of the sea. It is not as simple as this. Certainly, it is done so that people start cursing upon Allah ﷻ. Otherwise, what harm do these people cause? You are throwing things anyway. And instead of going to a dump, you are reusing them. And there is cleanliness. Therefore, there is no harm but benefit. They don’t get salaries and they don’t ask for anything from you. Everywhere is clean by itself, Shukr to Allah ﷻ. It was awful before. We go to the UK; go and look at it. Everyone dreams about London and thinks there is something special. You cannot walk because of the dirt and garbage. The river sides and waters are full of plastic and garbage. Shukr to Allah ﷻ, here is clean. And it cannot be finished without the garbage collectors. Without those people, everywhere will turn into endless garbage again.

Therefore, people should think about others, about the poor ones before doing something. They should care about the needy ones. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim used to give so much importance to this matter. He used to get angry with municipalities and tell them not to play with the Rizq of the poor. He would warn them. Sometimes people from municipalities would come to visit him. He used to tell them, “Pay attention to poor people. Don’t touch their Rizq” out of his mercy. It is not only mercy, but also benefit for people. Not everyone should study and expect a job. They should find their own ways. This will lighten the burden of the government and people will benefit from it. We ask that Allah ﷻ gives understanding and intellect, nothing else. People should think about their work while doing something.
