Trip
Cyprus 2026
2026 · Lefke, Cyprus
A jamaat from Mercy Oceans Dergah travelled to Cyprus with our emir, Shaykh Awase. The motto of the trip was "don't expect, just accept."
The brothers visited the land of Sultan al-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani (q) in Lefke, sat in his dergah beneath the words Edeb Yâ Hû and gave salams at his maqam. They visited the maqam of Hala Sultan, where Shaykh Awase showed them the stone that hovers over her resting place, and the maqam of the seven Sahaba by the sea, entering the cave where they were martyred, discovered in the time of the Ottomans.
Each day ended with the brothers together for sohbet and muhasabah.
In their words
From Those Who Were There
Travelling with the brothers as a jammat was truly a blessing, each day was something completely different and special in it’s own way. I have never seen brotherhood like this before in my life it was real companionship and an experience I will never forget.
I am grateful to the brothers and especially our emir Shaykh Awase for giving us insights and inspiration to us to become better people than what we were.
We laughed together, ate together everything was as one. Words cannot describe the feeling of how blessed of a trip it was. Alhamdullilah
Kaif This was my second time going on this trip, and this time I had the opportunity to travel with many new individuals whom I hadn’t travelled with before. It was really lovely spending time with everyone and seeing how each person brought their own unique skills and qualities to the group.
I really enjoyed visiting the ziyarats together and sharing some lovely meals along the way!
It was heartwarming to see how well everyone got along and how everyone tried their best to help one another whenever they could. Most of all, I really appreciated the end-of-day get-togethers, which felt comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyable. It was a lovely way to end each day and spend time together as a group.
Saif Alhamdulillah we travelled a number of times with Shaykh Awase and the brothers in Jamat and everytime its gets better. The love grows each time returning closer with a firm bond with each individual from different area codes and background.
Travelling with the Jamat and learning true Islam based on love and manners eating the finest food and visiting holy shrines sitting and sharing stories and experiences praying together laughs and jokes overall an experience not to be missed. For sure come back a better man and highly recommend for those who have not travelled with Mercy oceans.
“Good company, good food, good times”
InshahAllah look forward for the next trip thank you Shaykh Awase and the brothers.
Nuri Subhaan’allah every trip with the jamaat is not the same, each has its own unique charm, but every time is better then the last, although you would think that the best part of travelling together is being with the brothers, the unity you experience, the love everyone shares for each other,
I found the most you learn in these journeys is about yourself, you are shown flaws within yourself you didn’t perceive before, you are also shown blessing you already had that you appreciate more, you are given a gift in each trip that allows you to better yourself when you go back home,
The love you feel on the trip, the blessings you get by visiting our righteous predecessors and living mashaykh all comes home with you and stays with you for you to distribute to all your loved ones at home, some of the things you learn on these trips can really change a persons perspective on life entirely,
Each Sohbah given when implemented correctly is for the betterment of each person that listens to it, it is digestible for everyone and on a level all can understand and for me is the best thing about the trip.
Come as you are, appear as you are and allow each Sohbah to correct your bad manners, this alone will change everything when you travel with the brothers at Mercy Ocean’s together.
May we travel together always. Ameen
Uwais First time travelling with our amir Shaykh Awase and the Mercy Oceans jamaat was an experience to remember for life. The motto of the trip was “don’t expect just accept” and Alhamdulillah as the days went by the experience would get better and better.
By the permission of Allah we visited spiritual landmarks, you could feel that the blessed areas were filled with power and peace. Each visit we learnt something new like at Hala Sultan maqaam, our emir showed us the floating stone which miraculously hovers over the resting place of Hala Sultan. When visiting the 7 sahabas maqaam surrounded by blue skies and blue seas, we had the chance to go in to the cave where the sahabas were martyred while on their expedition and we learnt that this cave was discovered by the Ottomans.
There were many other blessed visits also to the land of our Grand Shaykh, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Adil Al Haqqani. The feeling being in the presence of sahaba il karam and Awliyah Allah is immense. It truly makes you forget about the dunya and connects your heart to Allah.
I will always make Shukr Allah for being invited and a great thanks to Shaykh Awase for keeping us in sohbet with him. A huge thanks to my brothers in tariqah who stuck together and always advising along the way, reminding us to keep adab. We had great meals together, great laughs and interesting discussions amongst one another. It was a pleasure to listen to the muhasabahs at the end of each day. This was probably the most time I spent off my phone while on this trip. 😂
