Sultan-ul Awliya, Mawlana Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani قـدس الله سره named his successor of the Naqshbandi tariqah as his son Sheikh Mehmet Adil Al Haqqani (قـدس الله سره) as his main successor over all murids around the world. Mawlana Sheikh Nazim (قـدس الله سره) said that ‘Sheikh Mehmet (قـدس الله سره) is number 41 in the Golden Chain of Grand sheikhs.’ Sheikh Mehmet (قـدس الله سره) is currently the leader of the Naqshbandi Haqqani order
Shaykh Mehmet Adil قـدس الله سره spent his youth in Syria’s capital, Damascus, under the guidance of both Shaykh Abdullah Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (قـدس الله سره) and Shaykh Nazim Adil Haqqani Ar-Rabbani (قـدس الله سره), training in the manner and discipline of the Naqshbandi Tariqa. He received his madrasa Islamic education from the Ahl-e Sunnat scholars of Damascus from the prestigious Mahd al-Fath al-Islami Institute in Damascus.
His father and guide Shaykh Nazim Adil Haqqani Ar-Rabbani (قـدس الله سره), is of the lineage of the founder of the Qadri tariqa, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (قـدس الله سره), while his great grandmother is of the lineage of the founder of the mevlavi tariqa, Mawlana Jalal-ud-din Rumi (قـدس الله سره) . According to the lineage in the Naqib al-Ashraf records, his lineage goes back to the family of the beloved Prophet SAW and is Ahl-ul -Bayt from his father’s side.
His mother, Hajja Amina Sultan(قـدس الله سره), is the daughter of a Tatar family who migrated to Sham Sharif (the Levant), through Anatolia of the Ottoman empire due to the start of anti-religious policies of Communist countries of the time. She is originally from the Orenburg Bakey town of the republic of Tatarstan, a subject of the Russian federation.
Shaykh Muhammad Adil (قـدس الله سره) resides in the village of Akbaba of Beykoz district, Istanbul, Turkey. As long as he is here, he treats his guests who arrive from all corners of the world. He sees his guests, young and old, one by one, and gives advice and sohbah to them that caters to there every need.
Mawlana’s words are words of wisdom and light for all of us on this path. Alhamdulillah, he has been traveling all over the world, attending to murids and spreading the light of the Naqshbandi tariqa from east to west. As Mawlana Shaykh travels he spreads the teachings of the great Naqshbandi Grand Shaykhs. His words are as per the needs of the audience. Every soul is fed as per its appetite and its needs. These words of wisdom are recorded and are then distributed among murids and non-murids all over the world, in various forms.
