About Mercy Oceans Dergah

Mercy Oceans Dergah (MOD) is a charity serving the youth of Bradford and surrounding areas, offering support in mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. Guided by Sheikh Mehmet Adil Ar-Rabbani, we provide educational programs, mentorship, skill development workshops, and mental health support.

MOD  hosts gatherings twice a week on Thursday’s and Sunday’s creating a safe, inclusive environment in which young people can thrive and build relationships to develop strong moral character based on the teachings of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Through our work, we aim to inspire, nurture, and empower the next generation.

The Way

The Most Distinguished Naqshbandi Haqqani Sufi Order is an authentic spiritual path (tariqah). This path was paved for us through the golden chain by the 41 Masters that link us directly to the prophet SAW, that brought down the message to us today.

The Shaykhs

Sheikh Mehmet Adil Ar-Rabbani spent his youth in Syria’s capital, Damascus, under the guidance of both Mawlana Sheikh Abdallah al Faiz (قـدس الله سره) and Mawlana Sheikh Nazim (قـدس الله سره)

Sultan-ul Awliya, Mawlana Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani قـدس الله سره named his successor of the Naqshbandi tariqah as his son Sheikh Mehmet Adil Ar-Rabbani (قـدس الله سره) as his successor over all murids around the globe. Mawlana Sheikh Nazim (قـدس الله سره) said that ‘Sheikh Mehmet (قـدس الله سره) is number 41 in the Golden Chain of Grand sheikhs.’

The Dergah

The dergah is a sanctuary that caters to all. The famous scholar, and ancestor of our sheikh, Mawlana jalal-ud-din Rumi (قـدس الله سره) saying ‘ come, come whoever you are… ours is not a caravan of despair.’ In Rumis original poem the word ‘caravan’ was actually ‘Dergah.’
