About Mercy Oceans Dergah
For over a decade, Mercy Oceans has served as a sanctuary open to all, founded by a group of 10 men, including our leader, Shaykh Awase. Through dedication and continuous effort, what began as a small gathering has grown into a well-known hub of support and refuge for many in the surrounding areas.
Fast forward to 2024, just five years later, and Mercy Oceans now welcomes over 100 people weekly.
So, what makes this so special?
At the Dergah, we gather twice a week, providing free meals to everyone who attends. We ensure that all guests have a place to sit, eat, wash, and pray—all at no cost.
Why do we meet twice a week?
We come together for the remembrance of Allah. Our gatherings are purely for seeking God’s good pleasure and supporting each other in these challenging times. The advice shared by Shaykh Awase offers profound wisdom that can shift one’s outlook on life. His talks, or sohbahs, are full of insights that help us uncover our purpose. After the sohbah, we engage in rhythmic, spiritual chanting, calling upon the names of God to illuminate our hearts with peace. As the Quran says, “Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.”
In July 2024, Mercy Oceans officially became a registered charity. This marks a significant milestone as we look to expand our efforts, reaching more people and continuing to guide them toward a better life. Since our inception, we have been entirely funded by donations from those who attend our gatherings.
We welcome all who seek peace and salvation. Our mission is to continue helping our community and beyond, guided by God and our leaders who have brought us to where we are today.
